Hey EJ- (elder Jarman)
Sorry I didn't write you last week. But it was great to talk to you!! You are so cute, and it was fun seeing you. Also I want you to know that Luke opened his gift and was looking at it and I saw it and wanted to look at it, so he handed it to me, and I was the one that natives that it moved. So I made it move (you know what that means) and I was surprised and then Like started dying laughing. Trent was like "yeah, they have a ton of those in Chile."
Anyway, this week the coolest thing that I read was the last chapter of Luke. There is a part at the end when the resurrected Lord comes and it says their understanding came and it says they understood the scriptures. And I was thinking, hold up. So these disciples that have just been really really struggling to understand anything Jesus has been saying for the part three years suddenly understand the scriptures that they could not for the life of them understand before: what changed!? Because certainly the disciples preaching in front of emperors and huge crowds with very concise doctrine can't be the same as the ones of the 4 gospels. But then I was reminded of one important thing. That this is when the apostles received the Holy Ghost. So of course they all the sudden understood the scriptures in a way they couldn't have before, and quickly became the powerful preachers of acts and Romans.
The Holy Ghost changes everything!! That is the coolest thing to me. Because it means we can understand too!
Anyway, have a great day!!
Love you,
Liza
