I think that is how a latin speaker would say your name.
I bet you had a fun night last night. I was thinking about you guys, going around your area in the cold, on a Sunday night, right before you give count of all your weekly totals for number of lessons, and everyone in all of Chile was inside watching the american cup finals. But hey, Chile won (as i am sure you guessed due to all the fireworks.) on pk's actually. Poor Argentina. I actually remember the american cup finals last year really well because it was a cold sunday night, and nobody wanted to leave their house, they were all so exited watching the game. And then we heard yelling and they set off the fireworks that they were going to use for when PY won, but then they lost pretty early one. And we knew that Chile had won because Paraguayans are so so with Chile, but they HATE Argentines, so I knew they were not really celebrating the win of Chile, but more of the loss of Argentina.
But on to cool spiritual stories.
1. This week i started classes. and I am taking 8 credits, which is a lot for summertime. And on Thursday I was thinking, I really want to go to the temple today, because I want to go one time a week and have been doing that since I got back, but I just do not have time to do it today. But I decided I needed to do it, in part because I had recently found some family names and it was going to be my first time taking family names to the temple and idk, I felt that I was making them wait everyday more to recieve some wonderful blessings of the endownment and inciatory. I couldn't just push it off. These wonderful women are the reason I am here, so I gotta do it. So I went to the temple. The parking lot was way full, and I had a meeting I had to go to at 7. I thought to myself. There is no way I am going to get done with iniciatories in an hour and 15 minutes. But I decided, I was already there, so I had to go and just do it. So I said a prayer in my heart, stopped worrying about being late. If I was late, I was late . . . and turned off my phone, entering the temple. And the peace was wonderful, the lines werent as bad. It was a wonderful wonderful experience, I felt that my ansestors had accepted the work.. I walked out and turned on my phone. It was 6:53, and I had just enough time to make it to my meeting on time. It was just another countless testimony of how God can do so so so so much more with us/our time that we can.
2. In alma 8 it talks about alma and amulek. And Alma goes and preaches, and the people just shut him down, no questions asked. They don't even want to listen to him AT ALL. and then as we all know, the Lord sends him back, and the Lord gives him a companion/ second witness . . . . Amulek. And then a bunch of people are converted, and converted so strongly that they later are burned. So. What is the differnece between Alma preaching by himself, and alma and amulek together?? It reminds me of so many moments of my life where someone explained a doctine, or principle to me, and it suddenly just clicked. I had heard it all my life from all the church leaders (the Alma's), but never really had gained a testimony of that commandment or principle untill that certain person gave that certain witness (the Amulek). And it made me think, espcially in missionary work, When can WE be that second witness to the church leaders?? How can we help other members learn to be that second witness? I would love to hear your thoughts. :)
Anyway, keep goin. You are doing great!
Love,
Liza
