Brian Felt——
Hey!  I have a medical question for you.

People here have started talking about autovaccunas.  O sea, where you draw blood from someones arm and reinject it back in their bum.  and it aperantly cures colds as well as dengue.  Like whatever virus you might have, it cures.

To me this sounds really really weird.  But I am dying to know where it came from and if it is something that science has recently discovered or a paraguayan myth that all the doctors here are sure that it works.

Gracias!

Liza,

I had a hay-day researching this one! hahahaha!  This is so great.

An autovaccine (autovacuna) is defined as a chemical process that involves chlorine dioxide to kill off/control dengue, bacteria, fungi, and algae.  It seems to have been a mix up in the chemistry since the blood in the arm is rich in CO2.  They must have thought that ClO2 was the same as CO2.  I called up 2 doctors and my friend that is in medical school.  They all confirmed my suspicions.  One physician mentioned that there is a slight medical advantage by moving blood around if one sits around all day or has bad circulation.  Upper core blood will be more nutrient rich than the blood that sits down lower in the body due to extreme lack of exercise.

So in short terms, that is false.  It gave me a great laugh though.  I hate needles, and I can’t imagine getting my own blood re-injected back into my rear-end.  haha.

Keep those questions coming.  How exciting it will be to see you soon :)  I have missed you!!

The miracle of this week was that we had a 15 year old in sacrament meeting. I feel I can now breathe again. We have a investigator progressing again. But what made it more of a miracle was that a less active came this week too! We found her this week, and her mom had a very hard heart, even denying the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and her family is in a difficult situation. She already has 3 sisters with babies, and they all are teenagers basically, and they live in a very humble house. And we were about to go, because her mom didnt really want to listen when she came out, and her mom went to cook. And we started to share a little with her I felt I had to challenge her to go church for one month, and if she does not like, she could stop, but she had to try. And she accepted. And in the rain she went with us to church! And she made good friends and helped out out investigator! So now we have a less active and an investigator who live close together, and are friends, and help eachother to keep reading and attending church. I know that God's plan is great, and so perfect. I can already see in 5 years when the two girls go on missions together!

The work is great!  I love it!  The miracles are just so much sweeter than the trials!

I loved all the pics of the trip to california.  I kept looking for stephen.  Our family looks really small now with 4 kids.

I fasted for stepehen this week.  I dont know how crazy this is or when they are going to decide if stevies is gonna go home for surgery.  But, if he does, and it is close to the 29th of april . .  call misisonary travel and get them to put him on my same flight. (like we meet up in panama or something)  This is probably something imposible and that wont happen. but if it could. It would be super cool.  The best of a worst situation.  That we get home together.  And I could help him with his bags if he is on crutches. Just something i was thinking about the other day.

Thanks for the advice dad about how to motivate people.  I realized that that is a little bit of what the spirit has been teaching me to do for these last 18 months but to have it all together, concisely put, helps.  Thanks.

Mom, hahah, I was with a mom of a missioariy that left 3 months ago and somehow it came up that I had extended. she was so shocked and said "How could you do that to your mother! Who raised you! Who gave you anything"  I kind of just laughed, mostly because i knew in some part she was kind of right.  I felt a little bad and then later the hna g said . . . look hermana, nobody that extends is thinking about their mother in that moment.  Haha, thanks.  But I would like you to know that I fondly think of you guys.  I, for the first time in awhile, am not afraid or nervous to come home.  I am happy.  Happy to stay and happy to go.  And like 1 percent jealous of california!  That looks so fun!  Keep planning the family trips! They are so fun!

Speaking of, I found a way that is super cheap to do a day trip to the coast of argentina!  And i already have our tour guide! So, we can do that one day when we are in Argentina!
