Jan 12, 2015
This week there were lots of miracles, but definately miracle number one is that someone I am teaching got bap`tized!  Such a miracle!!  Her name is Nadia and she is the daughter of a less active member and basically she grew up living with her grandma (I think because her mom was super young when she had her).  And then recentlt when her mom went to visit her for the holidays she realized that she was starting to have some bad friends.  Bueno, so now she lives with her mom in San Lorenzo, and she is super cute.  She is 13 years old, and so her understanding of the gospel is really basic (which is great because my spanish is still a little basic as well).  But basically the gospel just makes her happy, and the more she learned the more happy she felt.  So she got baptized.

This is my first baptism on the mission, and it was really cool to be a part of.  During the service I felt the spirit really strong that I was a daughter of God.  And that 11 years ago, I was baptized because the gospel made me happy.  And now, 11 years later, I am here in Paraguay because the gospel still makes me happy, and I want to share this happiness with others.  It´s that simple.

The other thing I felt is that the work never ends in the church.  Its like you get one baptism and then you have to have to start fighting the battle to get them to stay active and learn the rest of the stuff about the doctrine, and teach the new member lessons, and help the family continue to return to complete activity and it just never ends.  But then it just is so good.  I wouldnt want to be doing any other kind of work.  It reminds me of a talk Elder Holland gave about missionary work and the atonement.  Salvation is not a cheap experience.  It wasn´t easy for Him and why do we think it would be easy for us.  And really its not.  But it is so worth it.

I love you so much,
Hna Jarman

Katie—
I want to see a pic of your dress.  And I want to here about your wedding plans.  And everything.  And Jessica.  Is she engaged yet.  And your cute little cottage house.  And your classes.  But really the dress too.

Also how is Stevie.  Still broken hearted about Jess or is he over her.  And spencer.  Did you read Harry Potter to him . . . .

Love Always,
Hna J

P.S. I look at your bom that you gave me alot.  And I want to hear about the change or transfer that changed you mission.  When you have a minute to write it out.  Because you kind of talked about it a little when I went to visit you.  But you really found the atonement.  And I am just interested in this process for you.  I guess becaues I want the same change in myself. Because I think this is what makes a mission vale la pena.  Because it changes you.  But thank you for your gift of this libro de mormon.  It really means a lot to me.

Also what is the name of the friend of you last comp that is in my mish.  Just curious.
